When a landlord notifies a tenant that Renters Insurance is required, the tenant will receive the following email:

For Renters:

Step 1 - If you do not wish to purchase insurance through TurboTenant, you can click "upload a copy of your policy to TurboTenant" within the email to upload proof of your own insurance policy. You can also log in to your account and choose "Upload Proof" within the To-Do tab:

Step 2 - Select policy dates and upload the coverage document, and click Finish:

Once you have uploaded proof of insurance, the landlord will receive an email notifying them of the update. Both the tenant and the landlord will be able to log in to their individual TurboTenant accounts to view the document.

For Landlords:

Landlords can also upload Renters Insurance if they have required it for their tenants.

Step 1 - Under a tenant's profile summary, click Upload Policy:

Step 2 - Select policy dates and upload the coverage document, and click Finish:

That's it! Now both you and your tenant will be able to view the document from each of your accounts.

Renters can view their policy within the Insurance tab in their tenant portal.

Landlords can view the policy within the tenant's profile. You can view this by navigating to the Tenants tab, then selecting the tenant and viewing their information within the Renters Insurance section, similar to the image below:
