There are a couple of different options available when if you need to update a tenant's contact information.

Update the information in their profile

You can update a Renter's information before they log into their account. Once they log into their account, the landlord will lose access to make changes to their contact information.

If this option is available, you'll see the EDIT button available in their profile. From there, once selecting Edit, you can change/update an individual's name, email, and phone number.

Contact TurboTenant Support

If they have already logged into their account and you do not see an option in their tenant profile to update their information, this means you won't be able to update the information from within your account.

In cases such as this, you'll need to reach out to the TurboTenant Support Team so they can update the information for you.

Important Notes about Updating Contact Information

The lease is in the signing process

  • If you need to update a tenant's information on a lease agreement that is already in the signing process - you'll first need to cancel the signing process and then update the information. Once updated, you'll need to send the document back out for signing.

The Lease agreement has been completed and signed

  • If the tenant's information has changed after the lease agreement has been completed and signed by parties, you'll want to create a lease addendum so that their contact information is on file. Creating an addendum won't update the original agreement but you'll have the information for your records.

What happens if I receive an error when updating a contact's email or phone number?

  • This error occurs when the email and/or phone number is already in the system. In this case, you'll want to reach out to the TurboTenant Support Team.
