TurboTenant and Rent Butter: Understanding Your Consumer Screening Report

At TurboTenant, we understand the importance of transparency and accuracy when it comes to your rental application process. That's why we partner with Rent Butter to provide comprehensive consumer screening reports for our applicants. However, we want to make sure you understand that TurboTenant does not distribute these reports. In this article, we will explain how you can obtain a copy of your report and what to do if you have any concerns about the information included.

How to Receive a Copy of Your Report

To receive a copy of your consumer screening report, you will need to reach out to Rent Butter directly. You can do this by emailing them at [email protected]. They will return a copy of your report to you as soon as possible.

Please note that if you have any questions about the accuracy or completeness of the information in your report, or if you suspect identity theft or fraud, you will need to contact Rent Butter to dispute or make changes to your file. TurboTenant does not have control over the information contained in your screening report, nor do we review the information or have the ability to modify or ascertain whether or not said information is true or false. Consumer Summary of Rights

We want to make sure you are aware of your rights as a consumer when it comes to your screening report. That's why we have provided a link to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's summary of rights for identity theft victims. This document outlines your rights and what to do if you believe there is inaccurate information on your report. You can access the document here: https://files.consumerfinance.gov/f/documents/bcfp_consumer-identity-theft-rights-summary_2018-09.pdf

ICRAA Disclosure for California Applicants

The report does not guarantee the accuracy or truthfulness of the information as to the subject of the investigation, but only that it is accurately copied from public records, and information generated as a result of identity theft, including evidence of criminal activity, may be inaccurately associated with the consumer who is the subject of the report. An investigative consumer reporting agency shall provide a consumer seeking to obtain a copy of a report or making a request to review a file, a written notice in simple, plain English and Spanish setting forth the terms and conditions of his or her right to receive all disclosures, as provided in Section 1786.26.

We hope this article has helped you understand the process for obtaining and reviewing your screening report. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to our team for assistance.
