Showings Process with Autopilot

Learn how showings are done with Autopilot.

Autopilot handles the entire showing process — from scheduling to secure access — so you don’t have to coordinate tours yourself.

Scheduling a Showing

Once your listing is live, prospective renters can book showings online.

For vacant properties:

  • Renters choose from available 2-hour showing windows

  • They receive SMS confirmation and reminders

  • Phone verification is required

Showings are self-guided, which allows renters to tour at their convenience and increases overall showing volume.

Identity Verification

Before receiving access instructions, renters must:

  • Verify their phone number

  • Upload a valid government-issued ID

  • Complete a quick selfie verification

This process helps reduce fraud and ensures only verified individuals access the property.

Smart Lockbox Access

After verification:

  • Renters receive a unique, one-time lockbox code

  • The code is active only during their scheduled 2-hour window

Lockbox codes automatically expire after the showing window ends.

In the rare event a key is lost, we cover the cost of rekeying.

Dual Lockbox System

In some cases, two lockboxes may be present:

  • A smart lockbox for scheduled renter showings

  • A secondary lockbox reserved for emergency vendor access

The backup key is used only for emergencies or maintenance coordination.

Communication During Showings

Autopilot manages:

  • Showing confirmations

  • SMS reminders

  • Lockbox instructions

  • Post-showing follow-ups

  • Application link distribution

You do not need to respond directly to showing requests.

What You’ll See as an Owner

You can track showing activity inside your dashboard.

You’ll be notified when:

  • Strong applicants apply

  • A qualified group is ready for review

You remain informed by our Autopilot specialists without managing the logistics.
