TurboTenant helps thousands of landlords find tenants for their properties by marketing their listings on TurboTenant.com and dozens of 3rd party listing sites (like Apartments.com, Redfin, Rent.com etc.). These sites require landlords share a phone number on their listing. Often landlords don't have a dedicated phone number for their business that they can use for marketing and use their personal number.

To help, TurboTenant can now provide select Premium landlords with a forwarding phone number that will be posted on the listing across the listing sites, that if called, will then forward calls to your personal phone number.

Marketing Call Forwarding FAQ

What is marketing call forwarding?

A common phone feature where incoming calls to one phone number are automatically forwarded to another number.

How does marketing with a call forwarding number work?

When you market a property with TurboTenant, your listing is shared with dozens of 3rd party listing sites, many of which require a phone number to be posted. To protect your privacy, you can upgrade to Premium and receive a property-specific forwarding phone number to post with your listing instead. If this forwarding number receives a call, we will forward any calls received to your personal phone number.

How will I know an interested renter is calling?

When you receive a call from an interested lead it will be from your assigned call forwarding number. Around the same time you will receive a text message with the interested lead’s phone number for your future reference.

How long will I have the number?

Your forwarding number will remain active as long as marketing is active for your property. We also leave your call forwarding number enabled for 7 extra days after you take your listing down, to ensure you don’t miss any calls..

Can I change the number it forwards to (the receiving line)?

Yes. You can change the number that receives the forwarded calls at any time by updating your TurboTenant account phone number in your account settings.

How do voicemails work?

Any voicemails would be left in the voicemail inbox you have set up on the receiving line.

What if I have more than one property?

No problem! Each property will have a unique number so that you may easily identify what property a lead is interested in. Call forwarding is connected to each marketed property. All properties being actively marketed by Premium members will be eligible for a call forwarding number.

Do I get to choose the marketing call forwarding number?

No, we are assigning call forwarding numbers to you. But we try to assign a phone number that is local to you.

Do texts get forwarded as well?

At the moment we will not be forwarding texts. Any interested leads that send texts to your call forwarding number will receive an auto-reply requesting that they call the number instead or message you via TurboTenant.

How else can I post my listing without my phone number?

If you don’t wish to purchase Premium to get a marketing call forwarding number (and the other Premium benefits), you can get a call forwarding number on your own. When you do please update your phone number in the Account>Settings area. The updated number will be picked up on the 3rd party listing sites within 48 hours.

Do I still pay for Premium for a year if I only need a call forwarding number for a month?

Yes, marketing call forwarding is a Premium feature and Premium is Paid annually. Premium includes all the features you need to be a streamlined professional landlord on TurboTenant, during marketing and well after. Learn more about Premium here.

How do I enable call forwarding?

Visit the marketing tab of your property after you create the listing and then look for the Call Forwarding option on the page.
