Reasons to Contact Your Landlord

An overview on whether you should contact your Landlord or TurboTenant

Who to Contact: Your Landlord or TurboTenant?

We know renting can sometimes feel confusing, especially when you’re not sure who to reach out to for help. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Here’s a quick guide to point you in the right direction so you always know when to contact your landlord and when to contact TurboTenant.

When to Contact Your Landlord

TurboTenant is software that landlords use to manage their rentals. We don’t own or manage properties ourselves. For most rental-specific questions, your landlord is the best person to help. Reach out to them if you have questions about:

  • Rent & Payments – Amount due, due dates, or if you believe something is incorrect.

  • Lease Agreement – Terms, rules, or questions about your specific lease.

  • Rent After Moving Out – Still getting reminders after you’ve moved? Your landlord will need to update your profile to close things out.

  • Rental Application Status – Only your landlord can approve or deny applications.

  • Showings – Need to reschedule or ask about a showing? Contact the landlord directly.

  • Property Details – Availability, features, or other general questions about the home.

  • Maintenance Issues – For urgent problems, reach out right away or submit a request in your renter portal. (Tip: Always double-check your lease for details on how maintenance should be handled.)

  • Automatic Check-ins - When you submit a rent payment, you'll get a check-in that is automatically sent to you. If you wish to disable these, your landlord would need to reach out to our team to submit a request.
