Before You Begin
Partial payments are controlled by your landlord. This means your ability to pay less than the full charge amount depends on the settings of your specific lease.
Your landlord might enable partial payments when:
Roommates or co-tenants need to split the rent
They want to allow flexible payment amounts
If you cannot edit the amount when making a payment, partial payments are not enabled. You’ll need to reach out to your landlord to discuss further.
How Partial Payments Work
When your landlord enables partial payments, you will be able to enter any amount up to the full balance due. If partial payments are not turned on, the system will require the full amount.
If you previously could enter partial amounts but can’t anymore, your landlord may have updated the lease settings, or there may be a temporary issue with the payment module. If this happens, contact your landlord so they can review their lease settings.
How to Make a Partial Payment (If Enabled)
Log in to your TurboTenant Renter Portal.
Go to your Payments section and select Make Payment.
Check the box next to the charge you’d like to pay.
In the Your Payment field, edit the amount to the partial amount you want to pay.
Choose your payment method.
Click Make Payment to finalize.
TurboTips for Tenants
You can never pay more than the total charge; the system won’t allow overpayment.
Once submitted, a partial payment cannot be canceled or edited, so double-check the amount before confirming.
You’ll see the remaining balance in your account until the full amount is paid.
