Updating Your Accounting Preferences
To find your Accounting portfolio settings, click your name in the bottom left corner and select Settings.
On the Settings page, click the Accounting tab at the top of the screen.
On the Accounting page, you can configure your accounting setup, like your chart of accounts, vendor tracking, grouping properties using sub-portfolios, and a bookkeeping start date.
Chart of Accounts
A chart of accounts is the full list of accounts used to categorize transactions (income, expenses, assets, liabilities). This can be customized to create sub-accounts to match your reporting needs.
Enable Vendor Tracking
Vendor tracking in TurboTenant Accounting lets you connect vendors to transactions, so you can report on spend by vendor (e.g., plumber, contractor).
Enable Sub-Portfolios
Optionally group properties under a sub-portfolio for investors managing multiple LLCs or ownership structures — useful for reporting across a subset of properties.
Bookkeeping Start Date
The bookkeeping start date defines how far back bank transaction history is pulled when connecting a bank account via Plaid. This controls the starting point of your financial data in TurboTenant Accounting.
